When Someone Hates You

When someone hates you, try to remember that God loves you. His love is better than the hatred is bad. His love will bless you more than the hatred will harm you. Ultimately, He is in control of how much hatred you will experience and of how much love you will experience. His love is more important than all the hatred in the world. And His love is more powerful than all the hatred in the world.

John 15:19: If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 17:14: I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

2 Timothy 3:12: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

If you belong to Christ the hatred is aimed at Him more than at you.

John 7:7: The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

1 Samuel 8:7: And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

In a sense God wants His love to go through you to the world. And in another sense the world*s hatred for Christ goes at Him through you.

Matthew 5:44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Luke 6:35: But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

If you and I don*t love them, who will? The more difficult they are to love the more they need it. When we encounter someone who is hard to love we need God*s help to do it. We cannot do it without His help. God can turn enemies into friends. He does it often. When He saved you and me, He changed us from enemies into friends. He has changed some of my enemies to friends and some of my former friends to current enemies.

James 4:4: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

James 2:23: And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
